Styling the Midi skirt for Winter

This winter I'd have to say my most used piece of clothing has been my basic cotton midi skirt! Since I'm usually rocking the baggy & oversized looks, this mid-length minimalistic skirt adds the perfect amount of femininity to my often tomboyish outfits. Hello lovelies, I know it's been a while since i've last posted..I have been dreading going outside to take photos but I was able to find a new spot  right in the warmth of my own house so this is where I'll be taking my photos for the next little while at least until the temperatures start to go up.

Today's look is a simple casual chic outfit with some much needed layering for this extreme cold weather(They're calling it a polar vortex apparently hah). I'm loving this silk and cotton mix red plaid shirt that I recently bought from Aritzia, it's the perfect layering piece! I'm also wearing my favourite shoes at the moment which are surprisingly super comfortable and have lasted me through my 8 hour work days!
